Our aircraft wet leasing service works on ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) basis. This implies Wings Over Africa Aviation Limited will provide you with the aircraft of your choice (subject to availability) and a well-trained cockpit and cabin crew, besides assuming responsibility for aircraft maintenance and insurance (hull insurance).

Note: Wet Leasing prices depend on the geographical area of operation, and hence hasn’t been mentioned in the table above. The same goes for ACMI and crew per diem rates that depend on variables like the number of hours guaranteed, duration of the contract, type of aircraft, and area of operation.

We operate our aircraft wet leasing business from Kenya but our service is not restricted by geography.  You can avail our wet leasing service in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Central African Republic, and beyond.

Purposes for Which You Can Lease Aircrafts

A wide spectrum of audience varying from airlines and private charter companies to business consortiums can hire helicopters and jets on wet lease for purposes ranging from — scheduled passenger and cargo flights, air ambulance flights, VIP Executive jet flights, emergency evacuation flights, scenic air charter flights, filming charter flights, aerial survey & photography charter flights, relief supplies flights, and Humanitarian aid flights.

Your Obligations and Responsibilities

While Wings Over Africa Aviation Limited takes care of the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) aspect, as the Lessee, you’ll assume responsibility for fuel, landing, navigation, crew accommodation, crew compensation (per diem), ground transport, laundry, and 3 meal plan in a five star hotel based on ICAO standards, crew license validation, work permit, and any government or customs duty (excluded in the ACMI rate in the country of operations).

Prior Commitment

You must commit the leased aircraft for at least 3 months with a minimum guaranteed hours per month, which whether you fly or not you will pay for. And if you fly more hours than the minimum guaranteed number of hours, the hourly rate reduces significantly.

Solution for Organizations with Limited Need

Organizations with a limited need for aircraft leasing services in Kenya and beyond can form consortiums and lease one jet or helicopter for their mutual need. This way they can easily meet the minimum guaranteed hours per month.

For instance, an organization with limited air freight need may require a Cessna 208 Caravan for only 10 hours a month. However,  the minimum guaranteed hours per month for the aircraft is 50. So, in this case, five organizations with a similar need may form a consortium and lease the aircraft on a shared-cost basis.

This is, of course, a very basic example. Business consortiums can work things out as per the individual member needs.

How Things Work

For leasing, the two parties — the Lessor and the Lessee — will sign a contract. The contract shall specify, among other things, the terms and conditions of payment, lease rate, liability, obligations, governing law, force majeure, and termination of the contract. Once both parties agree to the terms and conditions of the contract, authorized representatives or directors of the companies will sign the contract.

Before the contract commences, the Lessee will be required to put a deposit and a bank guarantee for the number of hours guaranteed per month, along with the positioning and repositioning fees to the base airport, in the country of origin.
